, 3.8 PLACING ADJUSTING RINGS A. Full bed Mortar is required between rings and between rings/structure and rings/castings. Smooth the interior of the rings inside the manhole to provide a smooth surface approximately 1/2"thick.Provide a"bulb"of concrete outside the rings to maintain a minimum of 4" of concrete cover. B. Sealant option: In lieu of mortar sealant noted above the contractor may use a silicone adhesive,with prior submittals and approvals 3.9 FLARED END SECTIONS A. The last three joints of RCP piping shall use two tie bolt fasteners per joint,installed at 60 degrees from top center of pipe. B. Place flared end section as detailed. 3.10 RIP-RAP A. Subcut and place a type I geotextile over an approved subgrade. B. Place a 12" layer of filter blanket material over the geotextile. C. Hand place Rip-rap over the filter blanket material to the depths and dimensions detailed. 3.11 GENERAL PROCEDURES A. Clean all sewers of silt,debris,and other foreign matter prior to requesting substantial completion site observations. B. Protection: All surface or underground features or structures that are intended to remain shall be properly protected. If damage occurs immediately notify the A/E office. All costs associated with repair and replacement of structures damaged by construction shall be the responsibility of the contractor. • 3.12 TESTS A. All work shall be inspected,tested and approved in accordance with all state and local regulations. Provide the General contractor and A/E office with a detailed schedule of utility work for the purpose of scheduling observations. B. Sewer lines (PVC pipe only)shall be tested for sectional integrity and deflection. A rigid ball or mandrel shall be pulled through the line.
