2. Place/construct barricades at a sufficient distance from tree to prevent limb damage. <br /> 3. Shore or sheet as necessary to protect trees near excavation. <br /> 4. Branch or root cutting, if required, shall be done with sharp tools, and cuts over 1/2" <br /> shall be painted with approved tree paint having an asphalt base. <br /> 5. Protect root zone within ten feet of tree trunk as follows: <br /> a. Prevent vehicular traffic/parking or storage of supplies. <br /> b. Prevent dumping of refuse or chemically injurious materials or liquids. <br /> c. Prevent puddling or continuous running water. <br /> G. Underground Features: Drawings indicate approximate locations of new and known <br /> existing underground utility and service lines. Exercise extreme care in excavating to <br /> prevent damage to existing underground features. Excavation within 6" of existing utilities <br /> • and foundations shall be done by hand. <br /> H. Carefully review soil boring logs. Review construction procedures with Soil Testing <br /> Laboratory and incorporate appropriate adjustments as necessary to protect site soil <br /> integrity. <br /> I. All excavation must comply with the reuirements of O.S.H.A. 29 CFR,Part 1926, Subpart <br /> P, "Excavations and Trenches." <br /> 3.3 PREPARATION <br /> A. Clearing of Site: <br /> 1. Remove completely all trees indicated for removal within the area of new construction. <br /> 2. All material cleared/removed shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be • <br /> removed from the site. <br /> B. Topsoil Stripping: <br /> 1. All topsoil in the areas of proposed building or pavement as shown on Drawings shall <br /> be stripped. The topsoil shall be stockpiled for later use where shown on Drawings or <br /> where designated by the General Contractor. <br /> a.
