3.4 MISCELLANEOUS CONCRETE ITEMS <br /> A. Provide miscellaneous concrete items as noted and detailed on drawings. <br /> B. Provide and install reinforcing,anchors and bolts in concrete where directed and required. <br /> C. Provide for installation of inserts,hangers,metal ties and other fastening devices required <br /> for attachment of other work. <br /> D. Properly locate fastening devices in cooperation with other trades and secure in position <br /> before concrete is placed. <br /> 3.5 REPAIR OF SURFACE DEFECTS AND PATCHING <br /> A. If objectionable air holes,honeycombed areas or other surface defects occur,as <br /> determined by Architect,repair defects in accordance with ACI 301,Chapter 9,unless <br /> other materials and methods are permitted by Architect. <br /> B. At unexposed surfaces fill tie holes in accordance with ACI 301,Chapter 9. <br /> C. At exposed surfaces any patching required and permitted,as determined by Architect, <br /> shall comply with ACI 301,Article 13.6. <br /> D. At exposed surfaces plugging of tie holes,blemish repairs and removal of stains shall be <br /> performed as described in ACI 301,Chapter 10. Architect will select materials and <br /> methods for plugging of tie holes from alternates described therein. <br /> E. Concrete containing surface defects that are not repairable or cannot be patched to <br /> produce required finishes,or exceed permissible tolerances,as determined by Architect, <br /> shall be removed and replaced. <br /> F. Patch existing concrete where noted and where affected by new construction as required <br /> to match existing concrete. <br /> 3.6 CURING AND PROTECTION <br /> A. Provide curing and protection immediately after placement in accordance with ACI 301, <br /> Chapter 12. <br /> B. Continue curing and protection period as required by ACI 301. Cure not less than 7 days <br /> for all concrete,except high-early strength concrete for which period shall be at least 3 <br /> days. <br /> C. If forms are removed during curing period,immediately employ one of curing materials or <br /> methods specified for concrete surfaces not covered by forms and continue for remainder <br /> of curing period.
