r <br /> 2. The Contractor shall be certain that all systems are ready for proper operation prior to balancing and adjusting <br /> with clean filters and other system elements,e.g.,coils. Temperature control calibration, electrical interface, <br /> etc., shall also be complete prior to balancing and adjusting. All equipment shall be freshly oiled. The <br /> ' Contractor shall instruct his employees and subcontractors to leave all balancing devices in a wide open <br /> position and free all operating arms and adjustments so that they can be easily operated. <br /> C. Hydronic water systems. <br /> r1. Hydronic water systems will be balanced and pump performance will be certified by an independent test and <br /> balance agency contracted directly by the Owner. Division 15,Section 15990 is included for reference only. <br /> 3.09 CLEANING <br /> A. The Contractor and subcontractors for the various phases of the work of this Division shall clear away all <br /> construction debris, surplus materials,etc.,resulting from their work,including all duct/pipe shafts,leaving the job <br /> and equipment furnished in a clean,first-class condition. <br /> B. Air surfaces of all coils, fan housings, fan wheels, fan motors, air unit plenums and all air filters shall be wiped <br /> clean or washed leaving the installation in a first-class condition prior to being turned over to the Owner. <br /> C. All plumbing fixtures shall be thoroughly cleaned of all plaster, stickers, rust stains, and other foreign matter of <br /> discoloration, leaving every part in an acceptable condition and ready for use. The surface of all floor drains, <br /> cleanouts and other equipment shall be cleaned and each item shall be left in a first-class condition. Thoroughly <br /> clean all items of equipment furnished such as traps, strainers,pumps,motors, etc., leaving each item in a clean, <br /> ' first-class condition. <br /> 3.10 PAINTING <br /> A. This Contractor shall refinish and restore to the original conditions and appearance,all mechanical equipment which <br /> has sustained damage to the manufacturer's prime and finish coats of enamel or paint. Materials and workmanship <br /> shall be equal to the requirements described in the painting section of the architectural specifications. <br /> 3.11 IDENTIFICATION <br /> A. All mechanical equipment furnished under these specifications shall be identified with black-and-white laminated <br /> 1/8"plastic plates. Plates shall be attached with self-tapping screws. <br /> 3.12 CORE DRILLING,CUTTING AND PATCHING <br /> rA. All core drilling, cutting and patching required for the installation of mechanical equipment as shown on the <br /> drawings and/or specified in Division 15, shall be the responsibility of this Contractor except where specifically <br /> stated otherwise. No cutting shall impair the structure without the written approval of the Architect/Engineer. <br /> Should structural repairs be required,they shall be made under the direction of the Architect/Engineer. <br /> B. All patching, including painting (where required) shall be performed by the Mechanical Contractor, unless <br /> otherwise noted. <br /> 3.13 EQUIPMENT ACCESSIBILITY <br /> A. The Mechanical Contractor shall locate all mechanical equipment, valves, cleanouts, fire dampers, combination <br /> fire/smoke dampers,etc.as required to allow access for servicing. The accessibility of all equipment shall be noted <br /> on the coordination drawings. Provide additional duct or pipe transitions, angles, and offsets as required. The <br /> addition of access panels in ceilings or wall required for servicing mechanical equipment because a reasonable <br /> attempt was not made to locate equipment in an accessible location, shall be the responsibility of the Mechanical- <br /> Contractor. <br /> r <br /> r15050-7 No.99132-CP2 <br />
