3.14 PIPE SLEEVES <br /> A. Exterior Wall Penetrations. Seal pipe penetrations through walls using sleeves and mechanical sleeve seals. <br /> B. Interior Miscellaneous Penetration. Provide schedule 40 pipe sleeves through walls, floors, partitions or ceilings. <br /> Seal sleeves with special sealers and materials as prescribed in Division 7. <br /> C. Provide 20 gauge galvanized sheetmetal sleeves at all non-rated duct penetrations of walls and ceilings. Seal with <br /> special sealers and materials as prescribed in Division 7. <br /> D. Extend pipe sleeves in floors 2"above finished floors in unfinished areas and 1/4"above finished floors in finished <br /> areas. <br /> 3.15 TEMPORARY HEAT/EQUIPMENT OPERATION <br /> A. Temporary Air Handling Equipment Operation: <br /> 1. Manually operate air handling systems to provide suitable environment for installation of interior finishes. <br /> Perform commissioning operations prior to starting units. Follow commissioning starting procedures and the <br /> following manual operation sequence: <br /> a. Open outdoor air dampers, close return air dampers, open all air terminals to full open. Install filters, <br /> heating coil operating (outdoor air temperatures below 40° F), condensate drain functioning, and <br /> electrical protection devices installed. Start fan, monitor indoor and outdoor conditions, and operate <br /> heating and cooling systems to control space conditions; shut down systems completely and close <br /> outdoor air dampers at end of each work day. Retum/exhaust fans shall not run during temporary <br /> operation. <br /> B. Temporary Boiler Operation: , <br /> 1. The boiler and building heating system shall not be used for temporary heat in the building. The existing <br /> heating plant may be used prior to substantial completion only with written approval from the Owner. <br /> 3.16 FIRESTOPPING <br /> A. Provide firestoppmg material for penetrations and sleeves that pass through walls and floors. Provide the <br /> firestopping material that matches the fire rating of the wall or floor. <br /> B.
