32.107-32.109 1991 UNIFORM FIRE CODE <br /> Flame-retardant Treatment and Standards <br /> Sec.32107.The sidewalls,drops and tops of all ten[s,canopies and[emporary <br /> membrane structures shall be of flame-retardant material or shall be made fire re- <br /> tazdant in an approved manner.F1oor coverings,bunting,flammable decorations <br /> +,� ��' � or effects,including sawdust when used on floors or passageways,shall be made <br /> ,,� ?; � �,.�� � fue retazdant in an approved manner. <br /> ' �ti�� a An approved certification shall be retained on the premises indicating the fol- <br /> � ��, �s"" <br /> �� lowing: <br /> � {` '� ,�?� � c ���' (a) Identification of[ent,canopy or temporary membrane structure,size and <br /> ;'' °' fabric type. <br /> � ;� <br /> ' t` (b) Date that tent,canopy or temporary membrane structure and other flam- <br /> � mable materials were last treated with flame-retardant solution. <br /> (c) Trade name and type of solution utilized in flame-retardant treatment. <br /> (d) Name of persons and f"um treating materials. <br /> (e) Name and address of ten[,canopy or temporary membrane structure. <br /> Sources of Ignition <br /> Sec.32.108.(a)Smoking.Smoking shall not be permitted in ten[s,canopies <br /> and temporary membrane structures or in adjacent areas where hay,straw,sawdust <br /> or any other combustible materials are stored or used unless approved by the chief. <br /> `Vhen required,approved NO SMOKING signs shall be conspicuously posted. <br /> (b) Fireworks,Open Flames and Hot Objects.Fireworks,open flames,and <br /> devices emitting flames or fire or creating a glow capable of igniting combustible <br /> materials shall not be used in or adjacen[to a tent,canopy or temporary membrane <br /> structure,unless approved by the chief. <br /> M <br /> Portable Fire Extinguishers and Other Fire-protection Appiiances�� <br /> Sec.32.109. Fire extinguishers and other fire protection appliances shall be <br /> provided in every tent,canopy and temporary membrane structure as follows: <br /> (a) Minimum fire-extinguisher coverage shall be provided in every tent, <br /> canopy and temporary membrane structure as follows: <br /> 1. 200 to 500 squaze feet of floor area:One 2-A:10-B:C. <br /> �501 to 1,000 square feet of floor area:Two 2-A•10-B•C <br /> 3. Each additional 2,000 squaze feet of floor area or fraction thereof: One <br /> 2-A:10-B:C. <br /> (b) Fire extinguishers shall be provided for each kitchen, mess hall, power <br /> generator or transformer,locations where flammable or combustible liquids are <br /> used,and other loca[ions in accordance with U.F.C.Standard No. 10-1. <br /> (c) At least one 40-B:C-rated fire extinguisher shall be provided for each <br /> kitchen, mess hall, power generator or transformer and at locations where <br /> flammable or combustible liquids are used,stored or dispensed. <br /> (d) Other fire appliances shall be maintained at the site as required by the chief. <br /> 132 <br />
