REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, NOVEMBER 9, 1981 Page 12 <br /> Other areas mentioned for review included classifi- PERSONNEL POLICY <br /> cations and positions , retirement age, maternity leave, (�ontinued) <br /> sick leave for intoxication, jury duty, and physical <br /> examinations . Councilmember Frahm discussed Section XII <br /> Disciplinary Actions , page 7 , stating that he felt that <br /> the wording should be different. That the City Council <br /> should not get involved in implementation of disciplinary <br /> action but to just set guidelines. <br /> It was determined that the present policy is out-dated <br /> and should be redone, but that the present policy should <br /> be in effect and enforced until a new policy is adopted. <br /> Attorney Malkerson was instructed to look into policies <br /> of other cities and draft a new policy for review. <br /> Mayor Van Nest moved, Frahm seconded, to strengthen the <br /> language in the existing personnel policy to include a ' <br /> nepotism clause to preclude and include all employees <br /> paid or not paid, to exclude any relative of any employee <br /> or councilmember working on a paid basis or volunteer <br /> basis for the City to be enforced, with the excep�ions <br /> to be made by the City Council and City Administrator, <br /> to be brought back to the City Council as an amendment <br /> by Resolution. Motion, Ayes (4) Nays (0) <br /> It was announced that a Cable T.V. meeting would be CABLE T.V. REPORT <br /> held at Tonka Bay December 3 , 1981 . <br /> No report �rom the Transportation representative. TRANSPORTATION REPORT <br /> Butler moved, Hurr seconded to approve the PLANNING COMMISSION* <br /> appointment of Dave Opheim and Edward Callahan APPOINTMENTS <br /> to the Orono Planning Commission. Motion, Ayes (4) <br /> Nays (0) <br /> Butler moved, Hurr seconded, to accept the West WEST HENNEPIN ASSESS. * <br /> Hennepin Assessing District report dated September STATUS REPORT <br /> 30 , 1981 . Motion, Ayes (4) Nays (0) <br /> Butler moved, Hurr seconded, to accept the memo REDUCTION IN STATE* <br /> from the Administrator concerning State Aid AID <br /> Reduction, dated 11/2/81 . Motion , Ayes (4) Nays (0) <br /> Butler moved, Hurr seconded, to approve the FEDERAL REVENUE* <br /> avai�ability of Federal Revenue Sharing Actual SHARING-REPORT <br /> use report for 1980.
