We understand that <br /> the owners are applying for a variance to build a <br /> four-unit agartment building by converting the existing <br /> structure . We generally oppose that use as not being <br /> in conformity with any number of requirements and <br /> ordinances of the City of Orono. We recognize , <br /> however , that the present structure used as an industrial <br /> building or in a vacate state could very well become a <br /> public nuisance and an attractive amusement area where <br /> children may be injured. <br /> In the event that a tasteful application is made for <br /> creating a duplex, we would be willing to reconsider <br /> our opposition to this project. <br /> In the event that the Council should elect to approve <br /> the current application, we would appreciate being <br /> informed.
