We understand that
the owners are applying for a variance to build a
four-unit agartment building by converting the existing
structure . We generally oppose that use as not being
in conformity with any number of requirements and
ordinances of the City of Orono. We recognize ,
however , that the present structure used as an industrial
building or in a vacate state could very well become a
public nuisance and an attractive amusement area where
children may be injured.
In the event that a tasteful application is made for
creating a duplex, we would be willing to reconsider
our opposition to this project.
In the event that the Council should elect to approve
the current application, we would appreciate being
informed. "
End of letter
(Continued)
