Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . <br /> Dick Benson, City Administrator, presented the STREET LIGHTING* <br /> City Council with a memo prepared by John Gerhardson, Navarre Area <br /> Public Works Coordinator, dated April 2 , 1980, <br /> which states: <br /> Presently, the City of Orono has seven street lights <br /> in the Navarre business district that are of the <br /> old fluorescent type that are to the point of <br /> being obsolete. Parts are becoming very difficult <br /> to obtain and the manufacturer has indicated they <br /> are no longer making parts. <br /> Northern States Power Company is proposing changing <br /> the lighting to high pressure sodium vapor lights. <br /> There is no charge for th� change over, in fact, , <br /> the different lighting will result in a savings of <br /> $4. 70 per month per light to the City of Orono. <br /> Because Northern States Power Company requires approval <br /> for the change over, it is my recommendation to <br /> authorize Northern States Power Company to change <br /> the existing seven street lights in Navarre to the <br /> high pressure sodium vapor lights as proposed. <br /> Council Meeting - April 14 , 1980 <br /> Butler moved, Hurr seconded, to approve the replacement <br /> of seven lights to the high pressure sodium vapor <br /> lights in the Navarre area. r�otion, Ayes ) 4) - <br /> Nays (0) . <br />
