Malkerson <br /> DATE: April 8, 1980 <br /> RE: Status of 201 Facilities Plan <br /> Systems Overview - Preferred Plan <br /> On Wednesday, April 2, 1980, I was contacted by A1 Larsen, <br /> Facilities Section, of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, <br /> who informed me that there would be a meeting of the Metro- <br /> politan Council Staff, Metropolitan [aaste Control Commission <br /> Staff, and the PCA Staff at the PCA Building on Monday, <br /> April 7, 1980, at 1 : 00 P.M. , to discuss Orono ' s objections <br /> to that portion of the 201 Facilities Plan showing the con- <br /> struction of an interceptor from the City of Maple Plain <br /> through rural Orono to the City of Long Lake. In response <br /> to my questions, Larsen stated that he had reviewed Orono ' s <br /> objections that were previously mailed to him on March 6 , <br /> 1980, and he stated that the PCA staf� will be recommending <br /> the preferred plan as outlined in the 201 Facilities Plan <br /> which was for the construction of an interceptor from Maple <br /> Plain to the Ca.ty of Long Lake . He stated that there was a <br /> . need for the MWCC to act as soon as possible by recommending <br /> the pref�rred plan so that the preliminary design plan could <br /> be commenced immediately so that public hearings could be held <br /> c1'ti the 201 Facilities Plan in June of 1980. T' asked him when � <br /> the MWCC would review this matter and he stated that the MWCC <br /> would review it on the next day, Thursday, Apri1 3, 1980, at <br /> 2 : 00 P.M, i objected to his not informing us previously of <br /> the NIS9CC meetinq and objected to his scheduling a meeting <br /> w�th_ staf� subSequent to the date upon which the r�IWCC was to <br /> a_ct on the 20.1 Facilities Plan. <br /> A�ter talking with Larson, I informed the City of Orono con- <br /> cerning these developments. I also called Representative <br /> Bob Searles who stated to me that he would do whatever he <br /> could do to assist the city in having that portion of the <br /> 201 Facilities Plan relating to Maple Plain and the City of <br /> Orono tabl�d until the maypr and city staf� had had an adequate <br />
