RwGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, APRIL 14 , 1980 Page 20 <br /> Alan Olson, City Planner, entered into the record STUBBS BAY MARINA <br /> the following concerning the Stubbs Bay Marina 1980 License . <br /> 1980 license, dated April 7 , 1980 , which states : �; <br /> Staff recommends approval of �he 1980 Stubbs Bay <br /> Marina license subject to the conditions agreed <br /> upon in the Rezoning Agreement and repeated in <br /> - Exhibit A of the enclosed license. <br /> Council Meeting - April 14 , 1980 <br /> Mayor Van Nest moved, Butler seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION #1134 <br /> Resolution #1134 , A Resolution Directing Staff To Stubbs Bay Marina <br /> Issue A Commercial Dock License To Stubbs Bay 1980 License <br /> Marina SubjectTo Conditions Noted Herein For The � <br /> Period Of January l, 1980 To December 31, 1980. <br /> Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . <br /> Jeanne Mabusth, Zoning Administrator, presented MARINA COMMITTEE <br /> the City Council with a report on the April 9, MEETING* <br /> 1980 Marina Committee meeting, which states: <br /> Sailor World at Paul' s Landing - John Vogt, <br /> Richard Anderson and Gary DeSantis, the new owners, <br /> were present. They informed the Committee that <br /> Paul Fahlin leases the fishing boat rental, bait <br /> and food sales operation. Paul ' s involvement will <br /> be phased out in six years and the new management <br /> plans to limit the operation to the service of <br /> sailing boats. The r7arina Committee recommended <br /> approval of the 1980 license application based on <br /> a reduction in boat rental operat�.on, no special <br /> "fishing contests" scheduled and 1980 resolution <br /> to specify excessive complaints from neighbors on <br /> parking violations will result in immediate <br /> reduction in operation. A full report on the <br /> application"will be presented at the April 28, 1980 <br /> Council meeting. a�, <br /> Windward Marine - James Rivers was present. The <br /> Committee advised him of the difficulty in reviewing <br /> the proposed site plan until Council decides on the <br /> rezoning application. The Committee stated they <br /> preferred the floating dock arrangement to the <br /> buoys especially given the wind considerations of <br /> that bay. The application was tabled until Council <br /> acted on the rezoning application. <br /> North Shore Marina - Larry Hork and his attorneys, <br /> Bruce Douglas and Steven Emmings were present. <br /> Mr. Douglas notified the Committee of a pending <br /> litigation that would "finally" decide the standards <br /> or methods used to measure dock lengths. He advised <br /> us that recent contacts with the City Attorney would <br /> suggest that the Committee could approve of the <br /> operation up to the 200' demarcation. The Committee <br /> tabled the application pending advice of the City <br /> Attorney. (Continued) <br />
