R�GULAR DIEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, APRIL 14 , 1980 Page 18 Mr. Butterfield was granted a conditional use permit CONDITIONAL USE ��rRMIT in September, 1972 to allow the commercial greenhouse 3925 Watertown Road operation and approve the existing buildings. In (Continued) the succeeding years , he has reguested conditional use permits to construct additional greenhouses on his 20 acre site. Council has approved each application and to my knowledge has never set a limit as to the size of the operation. The nursery � operation covers approximately a quarter of his property. All of the proposed structures meet the setbacks of the RR-lA zoning district. The current operation involves a minimal number of employees - part-time if any, famil_y �run operation. There is no retailing done on the premises so customer parking considerations are not necessary. Screening was not addressed by the Planning Commission as the topography on the east side of lot makes screening most difficult. The Luce Line is approximately 600 ' from the operation and the trail in that area is located at the bottom of a steep incline. The Planning Commission reviewed the application and recommended approcal at their April 7, 1980 meeting. Council Meeting - April 14 : ;.980 Mayor Van Nest moved, Butler seconded, to approve the coaditional use permit request of Loren Butter- field, 3925 Watertown Road. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . Alan Olson, City Planner, entered into the record STUBBS BAY REZONING the Stubbs Bay Rezoning Agreement dated April 8, AGREEMENT 1980, which states : We have finally received the retyped agreement•signed by Mr. McCleary. The agreement is in your packet attached to the 1980 Stubbs Bay Marina License Resolution. The agreement is identical to the scratched-up version adopted February 11, 1980, except as follows: - Date changed to March 28, 1980 -#5 Technical change per APO' s recommendation to clarify flood elevation requirement -#7 McCleary has crossed out portions requiring outlot combination with a residential lot, as discussed at Council meeting.
