� � i2E�ULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, JANUARY 30, 1980 Page 28 <br /> The following memo prepared by Chief of Police LAW ENFORCEMENT INTERN* <br /> Kilbo concerning a law enforcement intern John Pohtilla <br /> dated January 9 , 1980 , states: <br /> The Police Department has a request from Mr. John <br /> Pohtilla, 17715 25th Avenue N. , Plymouth, Mn. <br /> to complete his college work at Normandale <br /> Community College by serving a ten week internship <br /> with our department. John is 20 years old and is <br /> in his second year at Normandale in Law Enforcement <br /> studies. <br /> John has been with the Police Reserve for approximately <br /> one year, during this time, he has received some <br /> training in different areas of Law Enforcement. <br /> During his internship, he will work on statistical <br /> data relating to burglar alarms to determine the <br /> percentage of false alarms. He will also purge <br /> the record system for outdated records, and update <br /> the after hours business call-out books in each <br /> of the squads. He will also perform such activities <br /> as the Chief may direct. <br /> The following conditions will apply: <br /> l. The period of internship will run from <br /> January l, 1980 through the second week of <br /> March. A period of ten weeks at approximately <br /> 20 hours per week. <br /> 2. He will not be an employee of the City nor be <br /> guaranteed employment after the period. <br /> 3. Insurance coverage is not afforded by the college. <br /> Our carrier will assume coverage under compre- <br /> hensive liability policy upon recepit of a <br /> memo requesting coverage. <br /> 4 . Evaluation and grading by the Chief of Police. <br /> 5. This will not create a position for future <br /> employment. <br /> 6.
