� � i2E�ULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, JANUARY 30, 1980 Page 28 The following memo prepared by Chief of Police LAW ENFORCEMENT INTERN* Kilbo concerning a law enforcement intern John Pohtilla dated January 9 , 1980 , states: The Police Department has a request from Mr. John Pohtilla, 17715 25th Avenue N. , Plymouth, Mn. to complete his college work at Normandale Community College by serving a ten week internship with our department. John is 20 years old and is in his second year at Normandale in Law Enforcement studies. John has been with the Police Reserve for approximately one year, during this time, he has received some training in different areas of Law Enforcement. During his internship, he will work on statistical data relating to burglar alarms to determine the percentage of false alarms. He will also purge the record system for outdated records, and update the after hours business call-out books in each of the squads. He will also perform such activities as the Chief may direct. The following conditions will apply: l. The period of internship will run from January l, 1980 through the second week of March. A period of ten weeks at approximately 20 hours per week. 2. He will not be an employee of the City nor be guaranteed employment after the period. 3. Insurance coverage is not afforded by the college. Our carrier will assume coverage under compre- hensive liability policy upon recepit of a memo requesting coverage. 4 . Evaluation and grading by the Chief of Police. 5. This will not create a position for future employment. 6. There is no salary involved.
