� I � • Page 46 <br /> , METROPOLITAN WASTE CONTROL COMMISSION <br /> Public Meeting Notice <br /> 201 Planning Program <br /> Southwest Area Study <br /> Introduction: The Southwest Area Study is one of several concurrent coordinated <br /> studies conducted by the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission <br /> leading to an overall sewage management facilities plan for the <br /> seven county MWCC service area. The overall project is called <br /> the "201" plan, referring to section 20l of the Federal Clean <br /> Water Act of 1972. <br /> The object of the Southwest Area Study is to determine wastewater � <br /> management alternatives and costs for the southwestern area of the <br /> Twin Cities metropolitan region. Both monetary and nonmonetary <br /> factors were examined to identify the most cost-effective a7ter- <br /> nati ves. - <br /> Purpose: The public meetings on the Southwest Study will provide background <br /> on the facilities plan, and a briefing on the preliminary results <br /> and alternatives. It will be an opportunity fo the public to ask <br /> questions and offer ideas about the alternatives. The MWCC will <br /> then be able to consider these additional perspectives on. the <br /> proposed projects while they are sti71 in the planning stages. <br /> Locations, <br /> Dates , Times: The public and community representatives are invited to attend the <br /> meetings.
