Dick Benson, City Administrator, nresented the BUDGET EXPLAPdA'.I'IONS City Council with a memo from Tom Kuehn, Finance � Director, concerning Budget Items Exnlanation dated October 11, 1979 , which states: The basic services �rovided by Suburban Community Services within Orono are counseling services for senior citizens to help them cope with problems that ar.e srecial to older adults. It is a cooperative �roject with the �aest Iiennenin P4ental Health Center. �aest Hennepin Human Services Planning Board is an organization through which citizens and the member cities can ensure corrununity narticination in promoting the delivery of needed health and social services for the west Hennepin area. The amounts budgeted for these services are $2 ,570 for Suburban Cor.ununity Services and $300 for �aest HennePin Human Services. Dick Benson, City Administrator, also presented the City Council with a memo from John �erhardson, Public �aorks Coordinator, concerning Budget Item Explanations dated October 9 , 1979 , which states: A c�uestion was raised and an exPlanation rec�uested on the following budget line items for 1980` l. [9ater Tower Maintenance The water tocver was built in 1971 and nut into use in 1972. Like the munici�al �aell, it should be on a five-year maintenance program. It has had no maintenance since it was x�ut _into operation. The amount budgeted is for cleaning, repairing, and painting inside and outside. (Continued)
