(Continued) Permits required: Sec. 15. 103. A person shall obtain a permit for the following: l. � Storage, handling or use of Class I flammable liquids in excess of one gallon in any dwelling or other place of human habitation; or in excess of five gallons in any other building or other occupancy; or in excess of ten gallons outside of any building: except that no permit shall be required for the following: (i) For the storage or use of flamr.table liquids in the fuel tank of a motor vehicle, aircraft, motorboat, mobile power plant or mobile heating plant (ii) For the storage or use of paints, oils, varnishes or similar flammable mixtures when such liquids are stored for maintenance, painting or similar purposes for a period of not more than 30 days. 2. Storage, handling or use of Class II or III liquids in excess of 25 gallons in a building; or in excess o� 300 gallons outside a building except for fuel oil used in connection with oil burning equipment. 3. Installation and use of equipr,lent and premises for the storage, handling, use or sale of flamr.lable or combustible liquids as herein stipulated. The required permit shall be obtained prior to the commencement of any work. The following options are provided for the Council to decide which level of fire protection is appropriate _ for Orono: LEVEL 1: Adopt basic code only with no additions: -No limits on quantity permited in any district -1�k�,ove ground tanks permitted in all districts with no setbacks required -Underground tanks permitted in all districts with three foot setbacks required -Portable container quantities not regulated LEVEL 2: Regulate portable container quantities and permanent tank setbacks: (Continued)
