The Orono City Council was presented with a rmermo REFUND from the Assessrlent Clerk to the Finance Director concerning prepayr.ment of special assessrients for Plat 41317 - Parcel 3420 dated August 29 , 1978 which states: On iiay 17, 1978, I received a special assessment search on the above described property frori T�ain City Federal Savings and Loan. In my research, I discovered this property had gone tax forfeit because of delinquent tax since 1966 , and the specials had been dropped, in error, in 1975. I wrote to Hennepin County directing ther.l to respread the unpaid amount. T}iis has been completed and I now have new levy spread sheets on these. The problem is in the fact that when I figured the assessrient search I did not take off the payment for 1978, which has been. included in a corrected tax statement. Since then� we have received and receipted pa_yr-ient in the amount of $2 ,968. 40 and the total should be $2 ,500. 92, mherefore, a refund of $467. 48 is in order. It is recommended that the resulting overpavment of $467. 48 be refunded to Twin City Federal Savings and Loan.
