' � REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, JUNE 15, 1978 Page 43 The 1978 LMCD application indicates ninety (90) WINDWARD MARINE LICENSE boats at slips and thirty (30) boats at moorings (Continued) for a total of 120 boats, which is four boats more than shown on the plan given to the City and two more boats than historically licensed by the City. Committee Comments : The main issue discussed by the Committee was summer dry storage on the property. The application indicates only two boats dry stored, whereas many more boats than two are often in evidence on the property (including boats stored in front of the building on the County right-of- way) . Staff also noted that complaints had been received during the last season about non-availability of restrooms at this marina. Staff Comments: There appears to be no issue concerning landscaping or dock arrangement at this marina. The dry storage practices. appear to be the only unresolved issue. � Mayor Van Nest moved, Butler seconded, for staff to submit a resolution at the June 29 , 1978 Council meeting for Council approval. Mr. Alan Olson, City Planner, reviewed the Marina PAUL'S LANDING LICENSE Committee minutes of April 18, 1978, concerning Paul' s Landing marina license, which state: Previous Licenses: Maximum slips authorized, 112. 1975 license for 86 slips; 1976 license for 112, 1977 application for 126 slips which was reduced by Council to 112 slips licenses. . Current A lications: The 1978 apglication shows ifty-four 54) slips plus twenty-five (25) off- shore buoys for a total of 79 waterward slips. Also included are sixty-five (65) dry storage boats for a total of 135 boat units for use in the lake during the summer season_ Fort�t-seven (47) other boat units are indicated to be on the property during the summer fDr a total boat density of 191 units. The 1978 LMCD application indicates 53 slips and 23 buoys for a total of 76 waterward slips. This year for the first time a certificate of survey has been presented with the application_ The survey indicates a revised dock layout generally, but not completely, conforming to the maximum 200 ft. dock length requirement. The dock layout does not meet the required side setbacks f.�r -thQ authorized j dock use area. The layout indicates �only 46 slips ! � within the dock use area..and the remaining 7 slips � as being in front of the neighboring residential � properties. The survey indicates a proposed gravel � parking lot on residential property across the street �Continued) � from the marina.
