,REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, JUNE 15, 1978 Page 42
A second issue discussed was that of general on-land STUBB'S BAY MARINA
boat storage. It was noted that the LMCD application (Continued)
indicates up to 108 summer stored boats, the Orono
application indicates up to 88 summer stored boats
and up to 155 winter stored boats. It was suggested
that these numbers of boats require additional
landscaping buffers to screen the winter storage area.
Staff Comments: Council should review the pending
redging, rezoning, and license application as a
single issue. Decision will involve policy
determinations which will have a lasting effect
upon the marina regulations of the City of Orono.
Mayor Van Nest moved, Butler seconded, to table
the Stubbs Bay Marina license until the rezoning
matter is resolved. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) .
Mr. Alan Olson, City Planner, reviewed the Marina MINNETONKA BOAT WORKS
Committee mintues of April 18, 1978, concerning LICENSE
the PIinnetonka Boat Works license, which state:
Previous Licenses: Always issued for sixty-six (66)
slips.
Current Application: Sixty-six (66) slips - no
change in dock arrangement.
Committee Comments: The Committee was primarily
concerned with winter boat storage. The application
indicates no stored winter boats, but is obvious
that many boats are stored on the property.
Staff Comments: None
Pesek moved, Mayor Van Nest seconded, for staff to
submit a resolution at the June 29, 1978 Council
meeting for Council approval. Motion, Ayes (4) -
Nays (0) .
Mr. Alan Olson, City Planner, reviewed the Marina WINDWARD lyIARINE LICENSE
Committee minutes of April 18, 1978, concerning
the Windward Marine license, which state:
Previous Licenses: Always issued for 118 slips.
Forty-two 42 on Tanager Lake and seventy-six
(76) on Brown's Bay.
Current Application: The Orono application is for
118 slips and is supported by a dock layout plan.
The plan indicates forty (40) slips on Tanager Lake
and forty-four (44) slips on Brown's Bay and thirty
- (30) buoys on Brown's Bay, for a total of 114 boats.
