January 20 , 1978, <br /> which states: <br /> Re: Review of Plans and Specifications <br /> CSAH No. 15, County Project No. 7252 <br /> Tanager Bridge No. 27529 <br /> Pursuant to your request, we have reviewed the construction plans, the sample <br /> copy of a resolution approving the project, the proposal form, the specification, <br /> and proposed Construction Cooperative Agreement between the County of Hennepin <br /> and the City of Orono, supplied by your office for County Project No. 7252. <br /> The work included in C.P. 7252 consists of removing the existing Tanager Bridge <br /> and replacement with a new structure together with necessary grading, drainage, <br /> retaining walls and bituminous surfacing associated with the new structure. The <br /> existing bituminous surface on Co. Rd. 15 will be removed and replaced from <br /> approximately 90 feet south of the bridge to approximately 140 feet north of the <br /> bridge. Retaining walls are included on the westerly side of the new structure <br /> and Co. Rd. 15 consisting of 55 lin.ft, south of the bridge and 80 lin. ft, north <br /> of the bridge. The driven roadway across the new structure is indicated at 36 ft. <br /> in width. <br /> The Hennepin County Plans indicate a low beam elevation on the new bridge of <br /> 938.62 and a normal water elevation of 929.4, - resulting in a minimum channel <br /> clearance of 9.2 feet. The distance between piers is indicated at 40 feet, center <br /> to center, with 6 feet from pier to edge of rip rap at water line. The channel � <br /> bottom elevation is indicated at 923 at centerline and approximately 924 at the <br /> edges. There will be some channel grading involved at the new bridge. <br /> Relative to the Special Provisions of the Specifications, the following sections <br /> are of_interest to the City: <br /> Section S-1 Insurance, paragraph S-1.1 and S-1.2 <br /> Section S-6 Responsibility for Damage Claims, paragraph S-6.1 <br /> It may be advisable for the City attorney to check the adequacy <br /> of these sections. <br /> Section S-7 Air and Water Pollution, paragraphs S-7.1 through S�7.3 <br /> Provides detailed and comprehensive specifications for prevention <br /> of erosion into and contaminatioa of channel and water areas.
