The City has a moratorium on dredging. <br /> � 2. The two members of the City staff that have <br /> • worked in the area of marina regulation and <br /> dredging were both out of town and would not <br /> � be in town until the next meeting. <br /> 3. The applicant has not shown how he would control <br /> � the siltation problems created by the dredging. <br /> 4. The dredging was to be part of an overall plan <br /> � to be reviewed by the Council according to the <br /> . applicant' s request. <br /> 5. The staff has not had an opportunity to review <br /> � the most recent application for the dredging. <br /> 6. North Star Marina is still not in compliance <br /> � with the Orono and LMCD ordinances concerning <br /> the length of docks. <br /> � 7. The applicant has not shown that there are not <br /> other ways to solve the alleged problem, such <br /> as restructuring of the docks or onland storage. <br /> . �. There was a possibility of rearranging the docks <br /> in such a way so that he will not lose any slips. <br /> � 9. The applicant has admitted that he has, in fact, <br /> extended the docks close to shore so that they <br /> � are usable presently. <br /> 10. The applicant has not shown how he will control <br /> � the sediment and runoff from his property which <br /> • has caused the siltation in the past into that <br /> po�tion of the lake which he now wishes to dredge. <br /> � 11. The applicant has refused to provide the necessary <br /> information concerning the overall development <br /> � plan which he prom�ised to so provide. <br /> � and to instruct the City Attorney to draft a resolution <br /> • in conformance with such� to be presented at the <br /> August 8, 1977 Council meeting.
