The equipment <br /> � use is based on the estimated time needed to <br /> remove and dispose of diseased trees at the rates <br /> � indicated on the equipment schedule provided by <br /> the State. <br /> � � <br /> The outside contracts are for the forester and <br /> � for the dumping charges at the disposal site. <br /> • The miscellaneous charges are for an estimated <br /> 200 trees removed on private residential property <br /> � for which the City would subsidize $25. 00 per tree. <br /> All the costs, except the subsidy costs, are <br /> � currently budgeted for in the Street Department <br /> or the Health Department of the General Fund. <br /> � The subsidy costs are included in order to <br /> • indicate the possible effect on the budget. The <br /> program application form will not be filled in <br /> � until Council has made a decision regarding this <br /> estimate. <br /> w <br /> II. Replanting Grant <br /> � <br /> The replanting grant is for the purpose of aiding <br /> � the City with the costs of replanting shade trees <br /> • to replace those destroyed by disease. There <br /> are several restrictions in this grant: <br /> � l. Grants are for trees planted on public lands only. <br /> � <br /> 2. The number of trees for which grants may be made <br /> � may not exceed the number of trees removed <br /> • from public property in the preceding year. <br /> � 3. Grants may be made for costs incurred after <br /> January l, 1977. <br /> � <br /> 4.
