A set of
plans was previously sent to the City of Orono
on May 19 , 1977, along with a cover letter
` briefly describing the project.
This channelization project is designed to eliminate
the immediate problem of conflicting traffic move-
• ments through the intersection. Existing conditions
• provide confusion and serious accident potential
between the eastbound CSAH 19 to CSAH 84 movement
• and the northbound CSAH 19 movement. The channelization
will also provide separation of CSAH 19 traffic through
 the intersection.
The project will be constructed at Hennepin County
expense by our maintenance forces. The estimated
cost of this improvenent of $1,500 with construction
taking approximately three days to complete.
ork within the City limits of Orono involves
construction of approximately 100 ' of 6-foot wide
bituminous shoulder located in the northeast cuadrant
of the intersection. As seen by the cost and extent
of the work involved, this improvement is not a major
Areconstruction project but a spot safety improvement
project intended to provide the travelling public
` a safer and more clearly defined intersection.
 nd of letter (Continued)
