 '
• , REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, MAY 23 , 1977 Page 15
Henry rsuhich, Building & Zoning Administrator, VARIANCE
read into the record the following request of 1350 Vine Place
yStephen Nicholson, 1350 Vine Place, for a
variance, dated April 27, 1977:

Stephen Nicholson, 1350 Vine Place, requests a
variance from lot area and width requirements.
This district is zoned LR-1B (one acre - 140'
width) .

The application indicates the area of this
existing lot to be approximately 1/2 acre. I
calculate this area to be about 23, 000 sq. ft.
(slightly more than half an acre) . The width
of the lot at the location of the proposed
addition is 60 ' .

The variances necessary would be about 1/2 acre
on the area and 80' on the width.
• Planning Commission Meeting - May 16 , 1977
 The Planning Commission recommended approval
! of lot area and width variance based on the
lot configuration hardships and subject to no
S setback variances required.
Welsh moved, Butler seconded, to approve the
request of Stephen Nicholson, 1350 Vine Place,
for a variance, per the Planning Commission
 Minutes of May 16 , 1977. Motion, Ayes (4) -
Nays (0) .
•
Henry r4uhich, Building & Zoning Administrator, VARIANCE
read into the record the following request of 3445 Shoreline Drive
Christy Realty, 3445 Shoreline Drive, for a #257
• variance, dated April 27, 1977: Christy Realty
Christy Realty is requesting to replace
existing 3 ' X 6 ' Keaveny Drug sign with
 3' X 8 ' 6" Christy Realty sign on existing
pylon located in front of the building
• previously occupied by Keaveny Drug.
The required setback is 10 ' . The existing
pylon is only 2 ' 4" from the edge of the County
right of way, County Road #15. The proposed
sign is 8' 6" wide. Therefore, it would be
extending over the edge of the right of way
when erected on the existing pylon. Mcst of
the existing signs on this strip extend over the
right-of-way line, I believe. No one here has
ver submitted a survey indicating location of
sign pylons in reference to the lot line. (Continued)
