I�Iark Luther, representing petitioners , rec�uested IVY LANE PETITION <br /> the City of Orono to r�aintain a diving dock, raft � <br /> � and swimming beach at Ivy Lane and Long Lake <br /> � Boulevard, appeared before the City Council to <br /> request Ivy Lane be maintainec� as such. He stated <br /> that to restrict the use of Ivy Lane to a fire <br /> lane would be a miss-use of land and presented <br /> � to the City Council a memora�,dum and finding of �acts . <br /> � Mayor Van Nest, coruaented that the City of Orono has <br /> • to detremine what uses are reasonable for this area <br /> that are not detrimental to the safety, health and <br /> � welfare of its citizens, and a public beach does not <br /> appear to be in the best interests of the City. <br /> � <br /> Mr. Luther commen�ed that ' the area in question is not <br /> � sui�able to be used as a publzc beach. ' <br /> � ;�ayor Van Nest r_cmindcd Mr. Luther that a public b�ach <br /> • was, in fact, what his clients petitioned for and <br /> restated the petition as presented, which states that: <br /> • '�ae, the residents of Dakota Avenue and Long Lake <br /> � Boulevard, wish Ivy Lane to be kept as is , with <br /> diving dock, raft and swimming beach privileges <br /> � for our neighborhood. ' <br /> � Mayor Van Nest commented that the City will reauire <br /> � sufficient tir.�e to review the meniorandum presented <br /> tonight a,�d will agenda this petition for April 25, <br /> � 1977 at 7 : 05 P.ri. for Council decision. <br /> + Mayor Van Nest moved, Paurus seconded, to table the <br /> , petition concerning Ivy Lane until April 25, 1977 <br /> at 7 : C5 P.M. Nlotion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . <br /> � <br /> , Mr. Greg Frank, City Engineer, was requested to FLOOD BOUNDARY STUDY <br /> review the Flood Boundary Study as it relates to <br /> � the Stubbs Bay r'Iarina and report to the City <br /> Council at the April 11, 1977 Council meeting. <br /> � <br /> � Mayor Van Nest informed the City Council that Mayo MEDIPdA RA ZONING <br /> � �aayne Nedderr�eyer of Medina has called him and Public Hearing <br /> invited him to the public hearing to be held <br /> .� P�Iarch 29 , 1977, at the Niedina City Hall regarding <br /> the proposed changes to the RA zone.
