At that time, I met on the <br /> � site with Gerald Philson of the Department of <br /> � Natural Resources and it was determined that <br /> to provide adequate sight distance on the <br /> � street, it would be necessary to shorten the <br /> west bent of the bridge by 6 feet, as well as, <br /> to remove the east bent as proposed. <br /> At that time, you indicated that the Department <br /> of Natural Resources did not have funds in the <br /> � 1975 budget for this extra work and that Orono <br /> � could either pay the additional cost (approximately <br /> $5,000) or wait and have the bridge constructed <br /> � (Continued) <br />
