Carpentry Work <br /> The builder shall and will provide all necessary carpentry labor necessary for the completion of the <br /> home plan. The builder shall lay out a11 work and be responsible for all measurements. All work shall be <br /> done in substantial conformity with the plans and specifications or any changes, variations and amendments <br /> thereof which the contracting parties have approved in writing. <br /> Girders or supporting beams shall be, as reyuired, by the size of the building and shall be shown on <br /> the plan. If girders are used, they shall be structural grade lumber designed for the loads and span of the <br /> structure. If wood posts are used, concrete sha11 be placed at the base of each post, set high enough to <br /> support the column at least two inches above the finished basement floor. <br /> If steel girders and columns are used, bearing surface at wall ends of girders sha11 be steel bearing <br /> plates. Bearing surface at bottom of column shall be steel bearing plate. Columns shall be clamped or <br /> welded to girder top. <br /> •The floor joists system used throughout the structure shall be the TJI system ("I"joists), <br /> spaced as per engineering by manufacturing. Sub Flooring shall be'/e" T&G U/L Plywood Aspen BXB. <br /> The studs for outside walls and partitions shall be 2 x 6 lumber placed 16" on center. <br /> Plates shall be of the same size as the studs and sha11 be construction grade lumber placed single at <br /> the bottom and double at the top. <br /> Ra.fters and Trusses sha11 be engineered, spaced 24" on center and be engineered by manufacturer. <br /> Rafters and Trusses sha11 be thoroughly braced in an approved manner with 2 x 4 knee braces or collar ties <br /> spaced 32" on center. Rafters and Trusses shall be securely spiked to plates,joists and ridges. <br /> Sheathing <br /> Outside wall sheathing to be 7/16" Orientated Strand Board sheathing. Roof sheathing to be <br /> 15/32" Orientated Strand Board or equal and shall be laid tight and securely nailed to each stud or <br /> rafter. H-clips shall be applied at all horizontal joints per the manufacturer's specifications. <br /> Roofing — See Allowance <br /> Roofing materials shall be"Fire Free"Artificial SlateTiles installed per manufacturers <br /> specifications.. In areas subject to roof ice build-up, underlayment shall extend 36" inside the exterior <br /> wa111ine of the building. See section 3203D3 of the Minnesota State Building Code. Roof valleys to be <br /> exposed and constructed of galvanized metal. <br /> 4 <br />
