� <br /> � 7.1.2 Engineer will make visits to the site at intervals appropriate to the various stages of <br /> construction to observe the progress and quality of the executed Work and to determine, in general, <br /> ' if the Work is•proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents. Engineer is not required to <br /> make exhaustive or continuous on-site inspections to check the quality or quantity of the Work. On <br /> the basis of such visits and on-site observations,Engineer will keep Owner informed of the progress <br /> ' of the�1Vork anci will endeavor to guard Owner against defects and deficiencies in the Work. <br /> 7.1.3 If Owner and Engineer agree, Engin�er will furnish a resident project representa�ive to assis� <br /> � Engineer in observing the performance of the Work. The Resident Project Representative shall work <br /> under the authority and direction of the Engineer. The duties and responsibilities of the Resident <br /> � Project Representative shall not exceed those duties and responsibilities of the Engineer as set forth <br /> in the Contract. It shall be to the discretion of the Engineer to delegate to the Resident Project <br /> Representatzve those duties and tasks that are within the authority of the Engineer to perform. In <br /> � general, the duties of the Resident Project Representative may consist of, but shall not be limited to, <br /> the following: <br /> � l. General contract administration. <br /> 2. Periodic �bservation of the work. <br /> i � 3. Unit price quantity and record plan measurements. <br />( � 4. Schedule, perform and verify tests and inspections. <br /> 5. Monitor Contractor's progress performance. <br />� ' 6. Provide information for the Engin�er`s review and decision concernin dis utes and <br /> g P <br /> defective work. <br />� � 7.1.4 En ineer will issue with reasonable rom tness such wri ' <br /> g p p tten claxificatior�s or�nterpretations <br /> , of the Contract Documents (in the form of Drawings or otherwise) as Engineer may determine <br /> inecessary, which shall be consistent with or reasona�ly inferable from the overall intent of the <br /> Cantract Documents. If Contractor believes that a written clarification or interpretation justifies an <br />� inerease in the Contract Price or Contract Time, Contra�tor may make a claim zherefor as provided <br /> in Section 10 or Section 11. <br /> � 7.1.5 Engin�er will have authority to disapprove or reject Work which is defective, and will also <br /> have authority to require special ins��ction ar testing of the Work as pravided in Paragraph 8.10, <br /> whether or not the Work is fabricated, installed or complet�d.
