� <br /> (b) All the Work and all materials or equipment to be incorporated therein, whether in <br /> storage on or off the site; and � <br /> (c) Other property at the site or adjacent thereto, including trees, shrubs, lawns, walks, <br /> pavements, roadways, structures and utilities not designated for removal, relocation or � <br /> replacement in the course of construction. <br /> 6.5.3 Contractor shall comply with all applicable laws, ordinances, rules, regulations and orders of � <br /> any public body having jurisdiction for the safety of persons or property or to protect them from <br /> damage, injury or loss. He shall erect and maintain, as required by the conditions and progress of <br /> the Work, all necessary safeguards for its safety and protection. He shall notify owners of adjacent ' <br /> utilities when prosecution of the Work may affect them. All damage, injury or loss to any property <br /> referred to in Section 6.5.2(b) and (c) caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by <br /> Contractor, any Subcontractor or any directly or indirectly employed by any of them or anyone for � <br /> whose acts any of them may be liable, shall be remedied by Contractor. Contractor's duties and <br /> responsibilities for the safety and protection of the Work shall continue until such time as all the � <br /> Work is completed and Engineer has issued a notice to Owner and Contractor that Work is <br /> acceptable. <br /> 6.5.4 Contractor shall designate a responsible member of his organization at the site whose duty � <br /> shall be the prevention of accidents. This person shall be Contractor's superintendent unless <br /> otherwise designated in writing by Contractor to Owner. ' <br /> 6.5.5 Contractor agrees to indemnify the Owner and Engineer and their agents and employees <br /> against all claims, demands, losses, damages and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising out of , <br /> or resulting from the Contractor's violation of any safety law, regulation �r code (including without - <br /> limitation OSHA) or any other prudent precaution. <br /> 6.6 WARNING SIGNS AND BARRICADES ' <br /> The Contractor shall provide adequate signs, barricades, colored lights and/or watchmen and take � <br /> all necessary precautions for the protection of the Work and the safety of the public. All barricades <br /> and obstr�ctions shall be protected at night by colored signal lights which shall be kept in operation ' <br /> from sunse�to sunrise. <br /> SECTION 7 � <br /> ENGINEER-OV�/NER-CONTRACTOR RELATIONS: <br /> ARBITRATION: INDEMNI�FTCATION � <br /> 7.1 ENGINEER'S STATUS AND AUTHORITY <br /> 7.1.1 Engineer will be Owner's representative during the construction period.
