Orono Municipa! Code Section 14-142 regarding Wellhead Protection - <br /> New Private Wells Prohibited is hereby adopted to read as follows: <br /> Sec. 14-142.- WeUhead Protection - New Private Wells Prohibited. <br /> (a) The owners of all buildin s where a nublic water supply is available or becomes <br /> available shall connect the buiidin s to the ublic water su I sub'ect to the followin <br /> conditions: <br /> (1) A private nronertv with a functionin�well will noi be r�uired to be connected to the <br /> city water unt�l the well becomes nonfunctioning or the buildinsz under oes major remodeline <br /> resultin� �n an mcrease �n water use that exceeds the canacit of'the wc11 <br /> (2) Where it is not feasible to connect to a ublic water su 1 or if rivate on-site <br /> water su lementation is re uired as determined b the Cit of Orono a well ma be drilled in <br /> accordance with the s ecifications and rovisions of the Minnesota De artment of Health Water <br /> Well Construction Code <br /> Lb� At the time connection to the public water sunply is completed all existin�pnvate wells <br /> no lon�;er in use shall be sealed by a licensed weli contractor accordinR to the Rules of the Minnesota <br /> Denartment of Health <br /> SECTION 2.
