7687. 1a <br /> ORDINANCE NUMBER 40 , SECOND SERIES , <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N[TMBER 38, SECOND SERIES WHICA AMENDED <br /> ORDINANCE N[IMBER 7.10 AND ENTITLED 'TRUCR ROUTE' <br /> The City Council of the City of Orono ordains: <br /> Ordinance Number 38 , Second Series and entitled "Truck Route" is <br /> amended to read: <br /> Subdivision l. Repeals Section 7.10 in its entirety. <br /> Subdivision 2. Inserts the following language as Section 7.1�: <br /> A. TRUCK ROUTE. It is unlawful for any person to drive a <br /> tractor , agricultural implement , truck over 9, 000 pounds gross vehicle <br /> weight, truck-trailer, tractor-trailer or truck tractor in through traffic, <br /> upon any street except those which have been designated and sign-posted as <br /> truck routes or are State, County or improved Municipal State Aid streets. <br /> For the purpose of this Chapter , "through traffic" means originating <br /> without the City and with a destination without the City, as distinguished <br /> from " local traffic" which means traffic either originating or having a <br /> destination within the City. <br /> B. POSTED NO TRUCKS. It is unlawful for any person to <br /> drive a tractor, agricultural implement, truck, truck-trailer, or tractor <br /> trailer over 9 , 000 pounds gross vehicle weight on any City owned and <br /> maintained streets that is posted "No Trucks" when such designation is <br /> approved by Council. , <br /> C. The following motor vehicles are exempted from the <br /> provisions of this ordinance: <br /> A. School buses <br /> B. Emergency vehicles <br /> C. Trucks serving residential properties on that street <br /> D. City maintenance vehicles <br /> This ordinance becomes effective from and after its passage and <br /> publication on August 17, 1987. <br /> Passed by the Council this 10th day of August , 1987 . <br /> -- --- � y---------------- <br /> � Jam s R.
