<br /> not intended to prevent the installation of any material or to prohibit any design or melhod af construction not specifically
<br /> prescribed by this code,provided that any such alternative has been approved.An alternative maierial,design or method
<br /> of construction shall be approved where the building officia!finds that the proposed design is satisfactory and complies
<br /> with the intent of the provisions of this code,and that the material,method or work offered is,for the purpose intended,at
<br /> least the equivalent of that prescribed in lhis cade.... Where the altemaGve material,design or method of construcGon is
<br /> not approved,the building o�cial shall respond in writing,stating the reasons the allernative was not approved.3
<br /> 9. Conditions of Use:
<br /> 8.1. Where required by the authori4y having jurisdiction(AHJ) in which the project is to be constructed,this report
<br /> and the installation instructions shall be submitted at the time of permit applica#ion.
<br /> 9.2. Thermasheath�-3,Thermasheath�-XP,TSX-8500, TSX-8510 and TSX-8520 are subject to the following
<br /> conditions:
<br /> 9.2.1. Installation shail comply with this TER and the manufacturer's installation instructions. In the event of a
<br /> eonflict between this TER and the manufacturer's installation instructions,this report shal!govern.
<br /> 9.2.2. These products shall not be used as a structural nailing base for claddings.
<br /> 9.2.3. Exterior wall coverings capable of resisting the full design wind pressure shall be installed over these
<br /> products.
<br /> 9.2.4. Walls shall be fully braced with other rnaterials in accordance with !RG SGctic�i�_F�6�2,�0 or lBC.:�,ecfion
<br /> 2308.y.3. -
<br /> 9.2.5. Thermasheath�-3, Thertnasheath�-XP,TSX-85Q0,TSX-8510 and 7SX-8520 must not be used to resist
<br /> horizontal loads from concrete or masonry walls.
<br /> 9.2.6. Except where permitted in accordance with !BC�3�;ction,2603;3 or IRC_Section R31 i3�4, in areas where
<br /> the probability oT termite infestation is very heavy, panels shall not be installed on the exterior face or
<br /> under interior or exterior foundation walls or slab foundations located below grade,and panels must not
<br /> be placed on exterior walls located within 6"(152 mm)of the ground.
<br /> 9.2.7. Therrr►asheath�-3 must be protected from the interior of the building by a thermal barrier in accordance
<br /> with!RC Section f2316��1 and IBC Section?603,4, except as allowed in Section_5.4.2.
<br /> 9.2.8. Thermasheath�-XP, TSX-8500, TSX-8510 and TSX-8520 are specifically approved for use without a
<br /> thermal barrier as prescribed by 1RC 5ec4i�r� �t316;�through�t31 f_�i,13 and 1BC 5ection,2503�4 through
<br /> 1EU3_f3,subject to the conditions in Section,a.4_3.
<br /> 9.2.9. When used as a WRB,all sheathing panel joints sha11 be taped with R-SEAL 3000 or R-SEAL �r.
<br /> Construction Tape.All penetrations shall be flashed in accordance with the manufacture�'s installation
<br /> instructions.
<br /> 9.2.9.1.When these products are not installed as a WRB, a separate WRB shall be installed in accordance
<br /> with IRC Secti�n F2703,2 and!BC SF�cti�n 140�.?.
<br /> 9.2.10. Use of these products shall be in accordance with the vapor barrier requirements of!RC�ection R702.7
<br /> and IBC Sectior�14Q5�3.
<br /> 9.2.11. In areas where the probability of termite infestation is"very heavy"as indicated in IXC Fiqure t�301.2��,
<br /> Thermasheath�-3, Thermasheath�-XP, TSX-8500,TSX-8510 and TSX-8520 shall nat be installed on the
<br /> e�erior face of foundation walls, under interior or exterior foundation walls or under slab foundations
<br /> located below grade. The clearance between the products installed above grade and exposed earth shall
<br /> be at least 6"except:
<br /> 9.2.11.1. Buildings where the structural members of the walls,floors,ceilings and roofs are entirely of non-
<br /> combustible materials or are pressure preservative treafed wood.
<br /> 9.2.11.2. On the interior side of basement walls.
