• MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD MARCH 14, 1988 <br />HIGHWAY 12 CORRIDOR SELECTION* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to appoint Mark Bernhardson and <br />John Gerhardson as representatives of the City of Orono <br />to the ad hoc committee for the Highway 12 Corridor <br />Study. Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />METRO WASTE / ORONO INTERCEPTOR PROJECT 85 -67* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to accept the information as <br />presented and to direct staff to monitor the <br />construction to assure proper procedures are followed. <br />Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />1988 MOUND FIRE CONTRACT* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to approve the fire service <br />contract between the City of Orono and the City of <br />Mound. Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />SPRING CLEAN -UP* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to designate..6pril 30 and May 7, <br />• 1988 from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM as Orono Spring Clean -up <br />Days. Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />PROPOSED COMPOST PROGRAM 1988 <br />Councilmember Goetten inquired about the approximate <br />cost for one day's clean -up in prior years. <br />Acting City Administrator Gerhardson stated it was <br />approximately $150.00 and felt additional yard waste <br />clean -up days would be worthwhile. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Goetten, seconded by <br />Councilmember Sime, to designate one Saturday per month <br />from 8:00 AM - 12:00 Noon from June through October to <br />accept yard waste from Orono residents. Motion, Ayes 5, <br />Nays 0. <br />FINAL PAY REQUEST 1987 SEAL COAT PROJECT* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to approve the 2nd and Final <br />Payment to Allied Blacktop Co. in the amount of <br />$6,107:86 for 1987 Seal Coat Project. Motion, Ayes 5, <br />Nays 0. <br />CITY AUCTION OF CONFISCATED VEHICLES* <br />• It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to authorize a public auction on <br />April 16, 1988 at 10:00 AM at Martin's 66 station in <br />Navarre to sell abandoned, seized, or unclaimed <br />.vehicles.
