• .MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD MARCH 14, 1988 <br />HAZARDOUS BUILDING PROCEEDINGS CONTINUED <br />It was moved by Mayor Grabek, seconded by- Councilmember <br />Goetten, to adopt Resolution #2383 Ordering Abatement of <br />Hazardous Building Action at 3960 Sixth Avenue North, <br />subject to holding the action in abeyance until April <br />15, 1988. Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />525 Tonkawa Road - Basement house - Owner, Roger <br />------------------ <br />Koehnen,,was present and explained that he is in the <br />process of selling this property which is being delayed <br />by the necessary torrence process. He stated that the <br />new owner intends to demolish the structure and build a <br />new house. <br />Building Official Jacobs noted that there are some items <br />being stored in the building which is to be removed. He <br />recommended adopting the Hazardous Building resolution <br />and hold in abeyance until.June 1st and if another 30 <br />days is needed, the owner must request a 30 day <br />extension in writing to the City. <br />Mr. Koehnen had no objection to this recommendation. <br />• It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by Mayor <br />Grabek, to adopt Resolution #2384 Ordering Abatement of <br />Hazardous Building Action at 525 Tonkawa Road, subject <br />to holding the action in abeyance until June 1, 1988. <br />Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />MOBILE FLOWER SALES <br />Acting City Administrator Gerharson noted the petition <br />submitted signed by local busineses against peddling on <br />streets in Orono. In particular complaining about the <br />"Rose Man" that is selling flowers from his truck on <br />County Rd. 15 across from the Calvary Church. He noted <br />that this same issue was brought before the Council in <br />1985. The Council's decision at that time was not to <br />amend the ordinance as long as the person selling was <br />complying with the ordinances. He stated that staff has <br />not received any other complaints and that the "Rose <br />Man" is in compliance with City ordinances. <br />Council found no problem with the current soliciting <br />ordinance and took no action. <br />CROSSWALK DESIGNATION PROCEDURES - COUNTY 15* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to accept the information <br />• regarding crosswalk procedures and direct staff to <br />continue efforts to maintain the MTC shelter in its <br />present location. Motion, Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />0 <br />
