MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD JANUARY 12, 1987 <br />PLANNING COMMISSION VACANCIES CONTINUED <br />Mayor Grabek stated that he was impressed by the number <br />and quality of people that have shown interest in these <br />positions. He would like keep the applicants who are <br />not chosen involved in some type of specific program <br />within the City to utilize their talents. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Goetten, that the Orono City Council make <br />appointments to both the Park and Planning Commission <br />at its February 9, 1987 meeting. Motion, Ayes 4, Nays <br />0. <br />1987 APPOINTMENTS - RESOLUTION #2110 <br />SUBURBAN RATE AUTHORITY APPOINTMENT - RESOLUTION #2111 <br />Council received a partial list of appointments for <br />1987. Because of the various appointments to be made <br />for Council, Planning and Park Commission and other <br />considerations the following appointments will be <br />presented at the February 9, 1987 Council meeting for <br />consideration: <br />Acting Mayor <br />Planning Commission Chair <br />Planning Commission Vice -Chair <br />Alternate Attorney <br />City Administrator Bernhardson noted that the only other <br />outstanding designation for the Council to decide upon <br />at this meeting is the appointments (two plus alternate) <br />to the Cable TV Committee. <br />Mayor Grabek stated that former Councilmember Tim Adams, <br />who has been serving on the Cable TV Executive <br />Committee, indicated a desire to continue on the <br />Committee. <br />After discussion, the following were appointed to to the <br />Cable TV Committee: <br />Councilmember Sime <br />Tim Adams <br />Councilmember Goetten (Alternate) <br />The following were appointed to the Suburban Rate <br />Authority: John Gerhardson <br />Mark Bernhardson (Alternate) <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to adopt Resolution #2110 <br />Designating Selected Appointments for the Year 1987; and <br />Resolution #2111 Designating Director and Alternate <br />Director to Suburban Rate Authority. Motion, Ayes 4, <br />Nays 0. <br />0j <br />
