MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD JANUARY 12, 1987 <br />PLANNING COMMISSION VACANCY INTERVIEWS CONTINUED <br />Edward Cohen - He has been a resident for three and a <br />half years. He takes an interest in community affairs. <br />He is an attorney and has appearred before many Planning <br />Commission's in various capacities, therefore, knows its <br />function and procedure. He feels he has the time and <br />interest to devote to the Planning Commission. <br />Gail Livingston - She stated that she is a newcomer to <br />Orono, moving here in September 1985. She has a law <br />degree and currently specializes in management <br />consulting. She wishes to get involved in some capacity <br />,in the community. She noted her background involves <br />issues of housing and public policy giving her a <br />'perspective and interest in the Planning Commission. <br />Because her work involves travel, she noted that if <br />appointed, she could work around the Planning Commission <br />schedule of meetings. <br />Jorja Lynn - She indicated by letter that she was unable <br />to attend, however she is still interested in the <br />Planning Commission position. <br />Carol Moore Trapp - City Administrator Bernhardson <br />explained that Ms. Trapp had previously been an <br />applicant for a Planning Commission vacancy. She <br />indicated to Mr. Bernhardson that due to her current <br />work load she would be unable to serve on the Planning <br />Commission at this time. <br />Clem Birch - He has lived in Orono since 1983. He <br />offers his business planning experience, dependability, <br />enthusiasm, and abiding conviction to give some of <br />himself back to his community in an appropriate way. <br />Park Commission Vacancy Selections - <br />Interviews to select individuals to fill two vacated <br />seats on the Park Commission as follows: <br />Lee Erger - He was not present but has informed City <br />Administrator Bernhardson that he wishes to serve on the <br />Park Commission for another term. <br />Bruce Kokal - He stated his interest in serving on the <br />Park Commission is generally because of his deep <br />interest for the natural beauty of Minnesota. He would <br />like to be involved in the planning and use of Orono's <br />resources for the benefit of all in the community. He <br />is currently a communications consultant and his <br />background includes public and governmental affairs. <br />Ronald Anderson- was not present. <br />0 <br />
