MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD JANUARY 12, 1987 <br />LIQUOR ORDINANCE DRAFT CONTINUED <br />It was moved by Mayor Grabek, seconded by Councilmember <br />Goetten, to direct staff to take into consideration the <br />concerns of the Council as they relate to this ordinance <br />and that the ordinance be considered in full at the <br />February 9, 1987 meeting. Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />STRATEGIC PLANNING - <br />SHORT TERM OBJECTIVES <br />It was moved by Mayor Grabek, seconded by Councilmember <br />Sime, to adopt Attachment A as the strategic planning <br />short term objectives for 1987 and that these be <br />incorporated in the Council /Administrator's goal setting <br />in April 1987. Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />REQUEST TO EXTEND SUBDIVISION APPLICATION* <br />EXPIRATION DATE - ZONING FILE #980 <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, the Orono Council extends the <br />expiration deadline for Mr. Keaveny's preliminary <br />subdivision from January 13, 1987 to April 13, 1987. <br />Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />ADDITIONAL 1987 INSURANCE RENEWALS* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to award the worker's <br />compensation and additional umbrella liability policies <br />in the amount of $59,337 to the League of Minnesota <br />Cities Insurance Trust for policy year 1987 effective <br />January 1, 1987. Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />NAMING OF LIVIrGSTON TOWER PARK* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to designate the City property <br />(adjacent to the water treatment plant at the corner of <br />Livingston Avenue and Blaine Avenue) as "Livingston <br />Tower Park ". Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />MNDOT AGREEMENT - FEDERAL BRIDGE BONDING FUNDS* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to approve the agreement with <br />MNDOT to act as the City's agent to acquire Federal _ <br />funding for Road & Bridge projects. Motion, Ayes 4, <br />Nays 0. <br />LONG LAKE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DONATION* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, for the Orono Council to accept <br />the generous donation of $1,500.00 from the Long Lake <br />Chamber of Commerce for video equipment and vests and <br />direct staff to send a letter of appreciation to the <br />chamber.
