ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES FOR SEPTEMBER 13, 1999 <br />• (91-1 APPRO - E PKOPOSAL FOR - COUNT Y -RaAU I515T T"FTTC�SIGNgL <br />WARRANT STUDY- Continued <br />Jabbour asked about the traffic counts on County Roads 19 and 15. <br />Gappa said at the County Road 15/19 intersection, the traffic count on County Road 15 is <br />17,000 vehicles per day and 13,000 vehicles per day on 19. <br />Jabbour indicated there are 24,500 vehicles per day on County Road 15 at Orono Orchard <br />Road, so there is an increase of about 7,000 vehicles per day between County Road 19 and <br />Orono Orchard Road. <br />Moorse said that what the engineer said in the study is that even though there is a stop light at <br />15 and 19 that stops traffic, when you get a half mile away from that and there is traffic <br />coming_ on all the way, whatever gap that is created at that stop light a half mile away has <br />disappeared by the time you get to the County Road 15/51 intersection. <br />Kelley said he is not in favor of completing the signal justification report. <br />Peterson agreed with Kelley. <br />Flint said there are questions in his mind as to whether the report is necessary. <br />is Kelley said there has been enough work done on County Road 15 recently and the Council <br />should wait and see how it goes. <br />0 <br />No action was taken on this item. <br />0 #12) JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH METRO TRANSIT <br />Flint moved, Sansevere seconded, to approve Joint Powers Agreement between the <br />Metropolitan Council and the City_ of Orono for the installation, replacement and <br />maintenance of bus stop signs.
