VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />Flint moved, Sansevere seconded, to approve Resolution No. 4349 Approving the <br />Proposed 2000 Budget. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />( * #15) SET DATE FOR TRUTH IN TAXATION HEARING <br />Flint moved, Sansevere seconded, to set the initial Truth in Taxation public hearing for <br />7:00 p.m., Monday, December 6, 1999 at the Orono Council Chambers, and to set the <br />continuation hearing, if required, for 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 13, 1999 at the <br />Orono Council Chambers. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />( 416) SET DATE FOR TAX RATE HEARING <br />Flint moved, Sansevere seconded, to schedule a public hearing regarding the City's tax <br />rate for 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 1999. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />• <br />( * #17) RESIGNATION OF KRISTINE JENSON FROM THE ASSISTANT ZONING • <br />ADMINISTRATOR POSITION <br />Flint moved, Sansevere seconded, to accept the resignation of Kristine Jenson from the <br />position of Assistant Zoning Administrator effective September 10, 1999. VOTE: Ayes <br />5, Nays 0. <br />( * #18) APPOINTMENT OF WENDY BOTTENBERG TO ASSISTANT ZONING <br />ADMINISTRATOR POSITION <br />Flint moved, Sansevere seconded, to appoint Wendy Bottenberg to the position of <br />Assistant Zoning Administrator at the Level 6, Step 1 salary of $30,851, effective <br />September 14, 1999. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />( #19) PUBLIC WORKS LAND ACQUISITION OPTIONS <br />Moorse said that the City has a need for additional land for Public Works - related activities, <br />particularly a brush disposal site and a leaf composting site. The Council recently directed staff <br />to obtain an appraisal on a 12 -acre portion of the property located just east of the City's <br />Public Works facility. The cost of the 12 acres was substantially higher than the Council was <br />willing to spend. He said that staff has now developed a set of options for consideration by the <br />Council. Moorse reviewed the options which are to purchase a 3.4 acre parcel of land to the • <br />east of the Public Works facility, purchase land from the Orono School District to the north <br />Page 14 <br />
