MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,May 15,2006 <br /> 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> (#06-3201 CHARLIE THOMPS09N,CONTINUED) <br /> Bremer moved,Kempf seconded,to recommend approval of Application#06-3201,David Carlson <br /> of Wilson Management for Charlie Thompson,875 Wayzata Boulevard,comprehensive plan <br /> amendment,to allow development of the site at urban residential density given the unique <br /> nature of the property and subject to compliance with the City's wetland buffers. <br /> VOTE: Ayes 3,Nays 2,Rahn and Jurgens opposed. <br /> #06-3202 TENII'LE ISRAEL,CAMP TEKO,645 TONKAWA ROAD,CONDITIONAL USE <br /> PERMIT, 11:09 p.m.—11:11 p.m. <br /> Bob Shiff,Temple Israel,was present. <br /> Curtis stated the applicant is requesting a conditional use permit in order to stabilize the existing <br /> swimming beach and a hardcover variance within the 0-75' zone due to the change in the hardcover <br /> percentage. <br /> Staff recommends approval of the hardcover variance and conditional use permit subj ect to the City <br /> Engineer's recommendations. <br /> Shiff had nothing to add to Staff's report. <br /> Chair Rahn opened the public hearing at 11:10 p.m. <br /> There were no public comments regarding this application. <br /> Chair Rahn closed the public hearing at 11:10 p.m. <br /> Rahn moved,Bremer seconded,to recommend approval of Application#06-3202,Temple Israel, <br /> Camp Teko,645 Tonkawa Road,condiHonal use permit,subject to Staff s and the City <br /> Engineer's recommendations. VOTE: Ayes 5,Nays 0. <br /> 12. #06-3203 PETER JOHIVSON FOR JAMIE WII,SON,745 SPRING HII.,L ROAD, <br /> VARIANCE, 11:11 p.m.—11:26 p.m. <br /> Peter Johnson,Attorney-at-Law,and David Erickson,husband of Jamie Wilson,were present. <br /> Gaffron stated the applicants are requesting a lakeshore setback variance in order to construct an <br /> , addition to the existing garage and guest house structure,which was constxucted nearer than 150 feet to <br /> Lydiard Lake prior to the Natural Environment Lake status and 150' setback requirement coming into <br /> effect. <br /> PAGE 34 <br />
