07531 Single Ply Roofing - Fully Adhered <br /> A. Provide and install elastomeric sheet roofing systems as shown on the Drawings and specified herein. <br /> B. Roofing Materials: <br /> 1. Roofing Membrane: Ethylene propylene diene monomer(EPDM); reinforced (black); minimum .045 inch <br /> thick: <br /> a. "Sure-Seal Reinforced EPDM / Design A" (Carlisle Corporation); "GenFlex Reinforced EPDM / Fully <br /> Adhered" (GenCorp); "Rubbergard Reinforced EPDM / Fully Adhered" (Firestone Building Products); <br /> or equal and approved. <br /> 2. Flashing Membrane: EPDM, furnished by roofing membrane manufacturer; minimum .06Q inch thick. <br /> 3. Adhesives: Primer, splicing cement, lap sealant, bonding adhesive and water cutoff mastic shall be as <br /> recommended and provided by the roofing membrane manufacturer. <br /> 4. Metal Flashing and Scuppers: ASTM A 361/A 361 M; minimum 24 ga.; color-coated, galvanized sheet <br /> metal: <br /> a. "UNA-CLAD" (Copper Sales, Inc.); "ColorKlad" (Vincent Metals); "PAC-Clad" (Peterson Aluminum <br /> Corporation); or equal and approved. <br /> C. Coordinate with other trades so that fascias, counter flashing, and other work are available and can be built-in <br /> without delay. Plan work so that roofing can be carried on continuously to completion. <br /> D. Apply elastomeric sheet roofing over roof deck and/or underlayments in accordance with manufacturer's <br /> recommendations: <br /> 1. Install roofing loose over substrata. Position without stretching. Lap edges minimum three inches (3"). <br /> Allow roofing to relax for at least one (1) hour before fastening or splicing. <br /> Z. Adhere membrane directly to substrate: <br /> a. Roll membrane back half width and apply bonding adhesive to back of inembrane and top of <br /> insulation <br /> b. Allow solvents in adhesive to evaporate <br /> c. Roll membrane back into position avoiding wrinkles and repeat process on other half. <br /> 3. Accomplish seaming in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations: <br /> a. Clean area of inembrane to be seamed with approved cleaner to remove all contaminants <br /> b. Adhere seams with seam adhesive: <br /> — Apply even coat of adhesive to each bonding surface, avoiding globs and puddles <br /> — Allow adhesive to dry until it is slightly tacky to a dry finger touch. <br /> E. Install elastomeric sheet flashing in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations: <br /> 1. Install flashing at parapets, roof edges, curbs and cants. <br /> 2. Flashing shall extend onto roofing minimum (3) inches beyond point where roofing is fastened to walls <br /> and curbs. Continuously bond flashing to roofing and vertical surfaces with bonding adhesive. Apply <br /> water cutoff mastic to flashing edges as recommended by the manufacturer. <br /> 3.
