2. For proper color blend, each row shail be run at least four (4) shingles across roof before proceeding to <br /> ne� course. <br /> 3. Cut off shingles at centerline of hips. <br /> 4. Cut-outs shall not occur over cut-outs in course directly below. <br /> 5. Install layered Boston ridge at hips and ridges. Orient ridge shingles away from prevailing winds, as is <br /> possible. <br /> 6. Locate fasteners in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. <br /> K. Ridge Vent: <br /> 1. Cut two inch (2") wide slot through sheathing, along ridge, one inch (1") each side. Leave uncut (closed) <br /> sheathing area, six inches (6") long, at each end of ridge. Cut through sheathing only. Where ridge <br /> board is used, cut 3-1/2 inch slot, 1-3/4 inches each side. <br /> 2. Uncoil ridge vent along entire length of ridge slot, including uncut six inches (6") at each end. Joint vents <br /> at longer ridges in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. <br /> 3. Install ridge shingles directly over ridge vent. Use nails on centers recommended by shingle <br /> manufacturer.
