He noted some major issues ae,lressed in the <br />comprehensive plan for the Met—' C. __:c! 1 included <br />metropolitan systems of sewer, tia;-jpu,zati.on, parks, <br />airport, housing, and MUSA line. The set.­.:r area was one <br />of the most critical concerns during the study pr.,.:ess <br />and will require, as proposed, some upgrade of the <br />existing sewer line between Long Lake, Orono, and Medina <br />involving negotiations pith those communities. Regarding <br />transportation, fronta 3e r -)ads are proposed to be <br />developed. Regarding a general aviation airport in <br />western Hennepin, the area does not appear to be <br />suitable and suggested an area further north. Regarding <br />housing, it provides the opportunity for development of <br />alternatives to single family homes which include goals <br />to provide low and moderate income housing. Regarding <br />MUSA lin, here would be expansion proposed in selected <br />areas. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson reviewed the following <br />areas in which no significant changes are recommended: <br />Area A - Portion of land at intersection of Hwy. 12 <br />and County Road 6, refer_,:;d to as Summerfield Farm <br />area. This is currently non -conforming use and no <br />changes are recommended. <br />Area 8 - Currently is designated as unsewered <br />residential.. No changes recommended regarding zoning <br />or on -site septic. It could possibly be developed <br />as .a Planned Residential District. <br />Area C - Currently a single family residential area <br />with an existing commercial kennel that has recently <br />been approved to connect to sewer. Area recommended <br />to stay as -is. <br />Area D - 2his is currently school and undeveloped <br />property with no changes recommended. <br />Area E - This is the far southeasterly end of the <br />corridor, Luce Line/Hwy. 1.2/wayzata border which was <br />originally recommended with no changes and remain <br />zoned residential with on -site septic and on -site <br />water. During the study, the owners of the proposed <br />Busy Beaver Day Care: Center requested to hook up to <br />Lor,g Lake's City sealer and water. This request was <br />primarily because the building is required to be <br />sprinkld necessitating a 500 gallon per minute <br />well. This would cost much more than hooking up to <br />city sewer and water.
