Lots or land with structures.
This acquisition plan will take 30 to 40 years when
Park District funds are available and %/he;i land
and structures are put on the market.
Funds are available now to purchase the Gridley
property now owned by fir. Durwell Vetter. I
have been instructed to negotiate for the hroporty
and will initiate an appraisal sometime after the
first of the year. We would prefer to deal with
this particular property now, rather than after it
has been divided.
Mayor Van Nest commented that the City of Orono is
not interested in seeing any of the land on Big
Island condemned for Park Reserve acquisition and
would rather see the Park Reserve purchase land
and buildings as they are put on the market by willing
sellers. fir.
