City of ORONO_ <br />FR ING <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. <br />CITIZEN COMMENDATION <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Mike L. Aitchison, 111 Atlantic Lane, <br />Rockford, Minnesota, was doing plumbing work within the vicinity <br />of 3645 North Shore Drive on November 19, 1986, and <br />WHEREAS, at approximately 1:30 in the afternoon a fire <br />had ignited in the house at 3645 North Shore Drive, and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Aitchison, had been notified of the fire by <br />Wayne Quast, went to determine if anyone was in the house, and <br />WHEREAS, the occupant was still inside the house and had <br />not exited the house, and <br />WHEREAS, Mike Aitchison without regard to his safety <br />reached in and together with Wayne Quast removed the occupant <br />from the premises, and <br />WHEREAS, the occupant exhibited signs of carbon monoxide <br />poisoning because of his exposure to the fire gases, and <br />WHEREAS, because of Mr. Aitchinson's quick and selfless <br />reaction probably saved the occupant's life. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Mr. Aitchison be <br />duly commenced for his brave and selfless actions in effecting <br />the rescue on November 19, 1986. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, <br />Minnesota at a regular meeting held December 8, 1986. <br />..ary C.
