City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />i NO. <br />SPECIAL COMMENDATION <br />WHEREAS, Carol Hansing is employed by the City of Orono <br />in the position of Police Secretary, and <br />WHEREAS, on November 11, 1986, the Police Department had <br />been informed of a possible suicide in progress, and <br />WHEREAS, the initial information given to the dispatcher <br />was inccrrect, and <br />WHEREAS, Carol Hansing overhearing the information and <br />recalling a similarity to another incident began sear, -ping the <br />files for a correct name and address, and <br />WHEREAS, based on this was able to give it to the <br />Officer in the field, and <br />WHEREAS, Officer Cornick upon going to that address <br />found a person ready to commit suicide. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Carol Hansing be <br />recognized for her investigative skills and initiative to assist <br />in saving the life of a young individual from an attempted <br />suicide. <br />THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Shows <br />its appreciation for such actions by public recognition of those <br />who do such lifesaving actions. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, <br />Minnesota at a regular meeting held December 8, 1936. <br />Mary C.
