The City woulu <br />work with Long Lake, Spring Park ar,..: Minnetonka Beach (which have <br />budgeted a total of $5,500.00 in those cojamunities to assist in <br />funding this program). Contracting of this service with those <br />communities that are interested would on the basis of patrolling, <br />calls and related expenses. <br />While the City has not in the past totally utiliized its budget <br />for animal control it is anticipated that there will be a growing <br />need particularly in the area of non -domesticated animals such as <br />geese and raccoons. Animal control during the hours this <br />individual is not on board would be handled by the Patrol <br />Officers. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />- It is staff's <br />recommendation that the City <br />initiate setting <br />up a program to <br />provide not only animal control <br />services but to <br />the extent that <br />there are <br />relat.:.' services that <br />might blend with <br />this job, that <br />personnel <br />be utilized for those <br />in addition, with <br />the program <br />to be in <br />the amount, budgeted. <br />Additionally the <br />staff is directed <br />to work <br />with otheL -ommunities <br />interested in contracting this service. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by , seconded by , to accept staf f's <br />recommendation for the alternative delivery of services for 1987 <br />and undertake establishment of a Community Service Officer <br />progra;a within the amount budgeted for contract services for <br />animal control for 1987.
