LMCD Board Minutes <br />August 27, 1986 <br />Page 4 <br />The committee determined that a late fall public hearing be <br />scheduled on the liquor licensing ordinance. <br />The committee was advised that 14 charter boats have been <br />registered, with three additional yet to be completed. <br />The committee reviewed current seaplane and ultralight rules of AIRCRAFT <br />the District, centering on the need for a change in the rule con- LANDINGS <br />cerning multiple practice and training landings on weekends. Upon <br />discussion, the committee determined that an amendment eliminating <br />multiple landings of any kind during weekends and on holidays be <br />drafted. <br />The committee accepted buoy inspection reports for 1986. BUOY REPORTS <br />The Water Patrol reported that verbal and written warnings and <br />citations are up 102%, compared with last year; equipment mainte- <br />nance has been improved and equipment is operating well this year; W.P. <br />there is extra patrol on the Lake, up 54% from last year; in REPORT <br />October ten trainees will be ready to be sworn -in as Special <br />Deputies; there have been two drowning in the Lake, 13 in the <br />county to date; and search warrants are being obtained for certain <br />charter boats in violation, in order to complete inspections and <br />to avoid embarrassment to passengers, offenders to be notified by <br />letter first. <br />In other matters the committee was advised that Biocentric will <br />make a preliminary report at the September Board meeting; the com- <br />mittee will hold a public hearing in the fall on changes in speed <br />limits; and River Corridor Study recommendations were distributed. <br />Bjorlin Moved, Garwood Seconded that the committee report be <br />accepted. Motion, Ayes 1101, Nays [0). <br />Hurr Moved, Bjorlin Seconded that the Special Event Permit applica- <br />tion by Operation Bass to conduct a fishing contest, Redman REDMAN <br />Tournament Trail, on September 7 at Gayle's Marina be approve.' with TOURNAMENT <br />the following stipulations: PERMIT <br />1. Compliance with the District's speed limits (40/day, 20/night). <br />2. The District's noise limits must be complied with (84dbA at <br />50 feet, or 82dbA on boats or motors built after 1-1-82). <br />3. All temporary signs for the event must be removed within 24 <br />hours after the event. <br />4. Boat registration numbers must be affixed to all boats, <br />according to statute. <br />
