10286.4 TO: Mayor and City Council I 1 '� j" ?; FROM: Mark Bernh-irdson, City Administrator~O " DATE: October 2, 1986 ti SUBJECT: Deputy Finance Director/Deputy City Clerk Replacement Joan Lattin, the person currently f i 11 ing the above referenced position, has submitted her resignation effective December 15, 1986. Ms. Lattin has been with the City for a number of years serving in the capacity of the Finance Director and subsequently Deputy Finance Director/Deputy City Clerk. In looking at the organizational needs and structure staff is recommending that the job be modified from what it currently is, which dces include the position of office coordinator for the clerical staff and that the new position of Finance Clerk be established on par with the existing Utilities Clerk position and that salary be reduced from the $22,315 down to starting salary range of $17,000 to $18,000. Additionally the Deputy Clerk position would rest with Teri Naab, who is currently the person that does the clerical work for the Building and Zoning Department. Such a shift would necessitate an increase in pay for her position. Recommendation regarding that will be taken into account in the up and coming comparable worth adjustments. This is brought to you at this time as staff would like authority to advertise for this new position together with being able to L ing the person on board prior to the departure of Joan Lattin foc a period of approximately 30 days in order to have some transition between the two positions.
