The Planning Commission chose to cancel the July 6, 1976 meeting and will hold their regular meeting on July 19, 1976. 11r. John Lambin submitted plans to rebuild a BUILDIMG PERMIT home destroyed by fire for Mr. George Hanson, Big Island Big Island. fir. Lambin requested waiving referral tc: the Planning Commission to allow him to proceed with construction. Butler moved, Searles seconded, to waive referral to the Planning Commission. Questions concerning Orono's '_ake setback policy and drainage were discussed. Notion was withdrawn. Paurus moved, Welsh seconded, to refer the building permit of John Lambin for George Hanson, Big Island, be referred to the Planning Commission. Notion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0). iir. Howard Meagher presented a resolution adopted SAKE flINNETONKA by the Lake Minnetonka Association to Mayor ASSOCIATION RESOLUTION Searles which stated that: "The undersigned, Richard A. Hassel, Secretary of the Lake Minnetonka Association, a Minnesota nonpro-'it corporation, hereby certifies that the following resolution was duly adopted by action of a majority of the directors of the Association at a -.sting held on June 10, 1975: Resolved: That the Lake llinnetonka Association is deeply concerned about maintaining adequate water safety on Lake Piinnetonka.. At this time, insufficient funds have been allocated by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department in order to continue an adequate water safety patrol program. In past years, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department has taken on the responsibility of providing, and has in fact provided, effective water safety activities on Lake Piinnetonka. At the present time, however, this county program has all but stopped and as a result, a critical problem in the form of a void of regulat.nq water safety on Lake Minnetonka has been created. The result of this void raises fear that the inevitable result will be personal injury and the possible loss of life to those persons using Lake Minnetonka. Therefore, the Board of Directors of the Lake Minnetonka Association strenously encourage the reinstitution of, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department !-later (Continued)
